Healing Complex Trauma with Sandplay
This training takes place in a large, beautiful conference room with ample room for expressive arts activities in a nurturing environment. Venture a few blocks to historic downtown Gig Harbor and discover waterfront cafes, restaurants and shopping.
Week One of the Week-long Experiential Trainings in Sandplay Therapy (40 hours) covers the basic educational requirements as determined by Sandplay Therapists of America and the International Society of Sandplay Therapists. This training includes: Fundamentals of Sandplay (18 hours), Clinical Sandplay I (12 hours) and Symbolism (10 hours).
Week Two is an extension of the first week-long training, but may also be attended by those who do not attend Week One. In the second week, we will explore using sandplay to heal complex trauma, and the concept of the four archetypal relational fields from Sandplay and the Clinical Relationship (Cunningham, 2013). We will integrate our understandings of neuroscience, trauma and body-based theories, Jungian theory and psychoanalysis with sandplay theory and practice. This training includes: Clinical Sandplay (24 hours), Symbolism in Sandplay (10 hours), Jungian Theory in Sandplay (6 Hours).
These trainings are designed to give a solid foundation to the sandplay therapist. Trainings are open to those who are interested in deepening their skills and understanding, and also to those seeking certification.
