STA Sandplay Conference in Seattle, June 5-8, 2014

The Spirit of Story in Sandplay is the title of the upcoming STA National Conference in Seattle, Washington. Sandplay conferences provide a wonderful opportunity to see sandplay in action, to learn about symbols, to see how each sandplay therapist approaches the work. This conference will "incorporate the cultural story telling traditions of the Northwest indigenous people into our work as Sandplay and Play Therapists..." (conference brochure). ISST Conference in Venice, August 2013

"The Mask: The Play of Hiding or Revealing in a Changing World"

The International Sandplay Conference in Venice was amazing. The conference focused on the symbol of the mask in sandplay. Topics included:

• On revealing: the mask as a manifestation of the inexpressible
• On hiding: the persona as a manifestation of the Collective Psyche and of the modern pathologies
• The mask, sandplay therapy and clinical research
